Daily Aspirin Therapy

As prescribed by your doctor, aspirin can help improve your heart health by slowing the blood’s clotting action. This prevents platelets (which help form blood clots) from clumping together, thereby helping to prevent or reduce blood clots. Blood clots that form in narrowed arteries can block the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart (resulting in a heart attack) or the brain (resulting in a stroke).

Most experts recommend an aspirin a day to help prevent heart and blood vessel problems for individuals who meet certain age, disease risk or other criteria.
